GAHN - Who we are


	Global Access Health Network provides access to a network of healthcare providers across Africa. The company was formed as a result of the international demand for quality assured and better managed healthcare provider networks in Africa. The company brings together individuals with nearly 20 years of healthcare experience operating in Africa to form a new and unique company focusing on creating extensive, quality assured health networks. Global Access Health Network is a joint venture between Axihealth and Medical Services Organisation. Axihealth is a Healthcare Company with a core focus on emergency medical and healthcare assistance services in the developing world. The Axihealth team has a wealth of experience in these fields and an in-depth understanding of Africa in particular. Medical Services Organisation (MSO) provides risk management products to the healthcare industry. It has an impressive track record of providing products which have been shown through independent critical audit to deliver quantifiable savings, exceed client expectations and achieve a high degree of member acceptance. The independence of MSO and its ability to manage risk (and thereby reduce costs) on behalf of medical schemes and other providers of healthcare funding is unique. It provides funders with a cost-effective option of gaining access to risk management services without the extensive time and capital required to develop it themselves.

	Global Access Health Network secures access to in-country Third Party Administrator (TPA) networks of healthcare providers in order to effectively provide quality healthcare services to members of international private medical insurance companies and large, self-insured corporates. The company then manages the claims arising from these services through MSO and makes payment of accounts either directly or via the TPA. An accreditation process involving detailed physical inspections of healthcare providers, as well as a cumulative service experience from each provider, are combined to give a quality rating. This quality rating is then used to select the best providers in each area and discipline. This accreditation process will be starting in mid 2009. Global Access Health Network is also able to offer international assistance and evacuation services through partner companies.

	We contract with TPA companies in African countries with the best quality and largest healthcare provider networks. Where suitable local partners are not available, we set up our own local networks. Our client’s members are then directed to these preferred networks of healthcare providers. On provision of services, the healthcare providers forward their claims to the in-country TPA who in turn manages the claims in accordance with the client’s specific requirements before forwarding them to Global Access Health Network for claims processing and payment. This process is continuously monitored, managed and quality controlled by Country Network Managers who are responsible for the relationships formed in each of the contracted countries. Our services are currently offered in English and French with limited Arabic capability. Portuguese will be offered during 2009.
